Very pleasant hotel in excellent location. We were surprised by the perfect French spoken by some of the reception staff. The hotel director arranged appointments for Covid tests at the nearby Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, even if there was an official waiting list of more than one week. Thank you very much, you have really helped us out!
Toll !!!! It was my first visit to Belarus. I was very lucky that my business partners in Gomel booked the room at the Hotel Zamkovyj Park. -Very friendly english speaking staff -very nice and very clean rooms; Of course with a perfect working air condition -Very clean bathroom-super bed! In my slightly higher weight class seldom ;-) -On request Pillow Service! -Excellent WIFI -Good location For the fair price in my view an unbeatable offer. Great!!!!
My wife and I stayed I Zamkovyj for 11 days and enjoyed it very much. The architecture, interior and rooms layout, restaurant and bar downstairs, internal garden with grill and terrace, secure parking are created with a Great Taste and evoke an admiration. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a few parties on the covered terrace in the garden and didn\'t even think about any other restaurant, because of its perfect environment and service. Location is the best in Gomel: just across the street from the wonderful Park. We can give this hotel, restaurant and their Teams 10 of 10 and would recommend this hotel to everybody, including our friends and family.
Tripadvisor about us
“If I was the British Ambassador visiting Gomel this is where I would stay”
This well situated small hotel has just opened on the edge of Gomel's beautiful central park (noted for the tame red squirrels). It is close to the Duke's Palace, the early medieval Orthodox Cathedral, and the River Sozh.
The reception staff are welcoming and helpful which is such a pleasure to find. Double rooms at £65 (breakfast not included) are perhaps more expensive than the three other hotels but well worth it by comparison.. There is free internet service. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed but not sumptuous. The shower room is bright and spacious. Personally I would have preferred a livelier décor especially since these days Gomel is becoming a colourful city. It is disappointing that the restaurant is below ground level but the tables are immaculately laid and the food I chose was prepared and presented to a very high standard at prices less than those of an English pub. Irina, my waitress, was charming and attentive. She offered a a menu in English together with advice on choosing my meal. My one criticism would be that to enter the restaurant I had to pass through the hotel bar. This small area needs acoustic dampening to counter the enthusiastic voices of the Belarusian patrons, but otherwise good food from an interesting menu and an international wine list.
If I were the British Ambassador visiting Gomel this is where I would stay and eat. I hope they will be able to maintain their high standards into the future. Stayed March 2011, traveled on business.
